On March 29, “Rural guest houses as a promising area for the development of tourism in the Talas province” round table was held in Talas. The event was organized by “Roza Otunbayeva Initiative” International Public Foundation under Mekendeshter project jointly with the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Talas province with the support of the International Organization for Migration in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Swiss Office for International Cooperation.
The roundtable was aimed at the discussion of measures to support small and medium-sized businesses, creation of new jobs and enhancement of the technical potential of local communities in the service sector, contributing to the improved tourist attractiveness of the Talas province.
Manager of the Talas branch Tilek Tajikanov took part in the round table with the presentation “Opportunities for expanding access to financing for women entrepreneurs”. In his speech, Tilek Tajikanov pointed out: “The support of women entrepreneurs is a special area of activity in Bai-Tushum Bank. One of successful projects to support the business of women, launched jointly with ADB in the Talas province, was a value added chain project. It provides for financing the acquisition of dairy cows for the subsequent delivery of milk to dairy processing plant. I want to emphasize that this project has become a good opportunity to develop sustainable mutually beneficial economic relations, where farmers are guaranteed to sell produced milk at favorable prices and have the opportunity to improve the breed and livestock, thereby increasing the volume of milk yields”.
The round table also included exhibition, where the bank stand was one of the most interesting ones.
